Wildland Fire Certificate Program Orientation

Juniors, seniors and current PSD ASCENT students are invited to take this 40-hour intensive course over two weekends to obtain the industry-required trainings for wildland firefighter certification (S-130 and S-190). Upon completion of the course, students can take the certification test, and when passed, will qualify to apply for jobs as a wildland firefighter. The course will be co-taught by a PSD counselor and NWCG-certified trainers from the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control.

FREE OF CHARGE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS
S-130 and S-190 Courses – Wildland Firefighter Training and Intro to Wildland Fire Behavior
Open to all 11th, 12th and PSD ASCENT Students
40 hours over two weekends of classroom instruction and field training
2 PSD elective credits
