National Technical Honor Society

The National Technical Honor Society currently serves over 100,000 active members and nearly two million alumni since its inception in 1984. NTHS honors the achievements of top CTE students, provides scholarships to encourage the pursuit of higher education, and cultivates excellence in today’s highly competitive, skilled workforce.

Students who qualify for and affiliate with their local chapter of NTHS will receive an honor cord at PSD graduation.

PSD NTHS Eligibility Requirements

For juniors & seniors to qualify for their local chapter of NTHS, they must meet these criteria:

  1. Completion of 20 credits within one of the following CTE pathways:
    1. Alternative Cooperative Education (ACE)
    2. Agriculture and Natural Resources
    3. Architecture and Construction
    4. Automotive
    5. Aviation
    6. Behavioral Health
    7. Business and Marketing
    8. Computer Science
    9. Culinary & Hospitality
    10. Design & Multimedia Arts
    11. Education & Human Services
    12. Engineering (STEM)
    13. Health Sciences
    14. Interior & Fashion Design
    15. Manufacturing & Welding
    16. Outdoor Recreation
    17. Production & Managerial Arts
  2. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in CTE pathway courses*
  3. Demonstration of post-secondary and workforce readiness (PWR) in one or more of the following ways:
    • Earning an industry recognized certification
    • Participation in a CTSO (DECA, FFA, FCCLA, SkillsUSA, etc.)
    • 5 or more credits of work-based learning tied to CTE pathway
    • College credit transcribed within your CTE pathway
  4. Good standing in terms of attendance and character

*Local chapter members who wish to affiliate with the National NTHS organization must also maintain a 3.0 overall cumulative GPA.
